Job summary

Meridian HealthCare in Youngstown, OH, is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacist in dispensing medications, maintaining records, and ensuring accurate entry into the pharmacy system. You will assist with inventory and comply with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ohio State Board of Pharmacy registration as Technician or Technician Trainee preferred.
  • CPhT certification preferred (PTCB or NHA).
  • Retail, hospital, or clinic pharmacy experience is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications per regulations.
  • Enter prescription and patient information accurately into the pharmacy system and maintain records.
  • Prepare medications for dispensing: counting, labeling, packaging, and restocking inventory.
  • Support inventory management by receiving, organizing, and tracking medications and supplies.
  • Maintain documentation and assist with compliance activities, including 340B program support.
  • Provide courteous customer service to patients, including answering phones and inquiries.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, providers, nursing staff, and care team members for integrated patient care.
  • Assist with audits, quality assurance, and reporting as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy work environment.

Education

High school diploma or GED
Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
Ohio State Board of Pharmacy registration (preferred)

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy work environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current registration with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee preferred.
  • National pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) through PTCB or NHA preferred
  • Experience in a retail, hospital, or clinic-based pharmacy setting preferred but not required.
