REMOTE POSITION in WORCESTER, MA

Location & Schedule

Primary location: 5 Neponset St. 3rd Floor, Worcester, MA. The role is telecommute with remote work daily; occasional on-site meetings or training may be required.

Schedule (38.75 hours): Monday - Friday. Shift options: 7am–3:30pm, 8:30am–5pm, 10:30am–7pm EST. Shifts rotate weekly between 7am–3:30pm and 8:30am–5pm; every 5–6 weeks you may be scheduled for 10:30am–7pm identified one month in advance.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform duties as directed by the prescription specialist supervisor.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with all departments at Reliant Medical Group, patients, prescribers, payors, and pharmacies.
  • Develop proficiency in the use of Epic.
  • Work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Greet patients by telephone to ensure prompt service.
  • Enter prescription information into Epic, including patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, prescription interpretation, chart review, and accurate documentation.
  • Accurately review and process e‑prescriptions, faxed prescriptions, my‑chart renewals, and patient calls per prescription department guidelines.
  • Collect customer, insurance, and prescription information required for new and refill prescriptions.
  • Communicate any issues that may delay the prescription and coordinate resolutions with the prescription specialist supervisor.
  • Assist in maintaining the prescription pool, managing open encounters and in‑basket management.
  • Follow all asset protection and personal safety guidelines as outlined in departmental policy and procedures.
  • Obtain correct Prior Authorization forms and process prior authorizations for medications not covered by patient insurance.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher.
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in Massachusetts.
  • At least 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience (retail, hospital, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician through PTCB, CPhT, or NHA.
  • Prior authorization experience highly preferred.
  • Specialty medication experience.
