Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Location: West Hollywood, CA 90069

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations by assisting with prescription processing, inventory management, patient communication, and regulatory compliance. The Pharmacy Technician will work closely with pharmacists, healthcare providers, and patients to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient medication services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update patient profiles and prescription records.
  • Enter prescriptions accurately into the pharmacy management system.
  • Fill prescriptions and coordinate automatic refills for eligible patients.
  • Prepare medication packages for shipping and delivery.
  • File prescriptions and maintain pharmacy documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations and controlled substance requirements.
  • Answer pharmacy phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and manage voicemail messages.
  • Communicate with insurance providers and manufacturers to resolve coverage issues, process prior authorizations, and coordinate copay assistance programs.
  • Document patient and prescription information in appropriate systems.
  • Process billing transactions, operate the cash register, and reconcile daily balances.
  • Order, receive, restock, and maintain pharmacy inventory and supplies.
  • Generate and interpret pharmacy reports.
  • Process medication returns, expired inventory, and distributor returns in accordance with regulations.
  • Participate in required department meetings, staff meetings, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment.
  • Assist with routine and scheduled physical inventory counts.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support coordinated patient care.
  • Complete required workplace safety and compliance training.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional and ethical healthcare standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting professionally with patients, coworkers, vendors, and visitors.
  • Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid California Pharmacy Technician license.
  • Previous healthcare experience or relevant education preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, electronic medical records, and pharmacy management software.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and electronic file management.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Experience with HIV, sexual health, or specialty medications is preferred.
  • Experience working with the 340B Drug Pricing Program is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
