Job summary

CivicMinds, Inc. is seeking a compassionate Pharmacy Technician to join our team. You will participate in filling prescriptions, clerical duties, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations while delivering excellent customer service to patients.

You will maintain patient profiles, enter prescriptions, handle billing, and support inventory and drug distribution. The role emphasizes confidentiality and professional conduct within a diverse healthcare setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid Pharmacy Technician license from the CA Board of Pharmacy.
  • Healthcare experience or education.
  • Basic computer skills, including EMR systems and Windows Explorer.
  • Spanish language skills preferred.
  • Experience with HIV and sexual health medications.
  • Familiarity with the 340B program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update patient profiles and prescription files.
  • Enter prescriptions into the electronic system accurately.
  • Fill prescriptions and coordinate auto-refills.
  • Prepare packages for shipping and delivery.
  • File prescriptions and paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with 340B, State Board of Pharmacy, and DEA requirements.
  • Answer and return patient calls, manage voicemail.
  • Communicate with insurance companies and manufacturers to resolve coverage issues, initiate prior authorizations, and activate co-pay cards.
  • Document in appropriate databases.
  • Manage billing, cash register, and daily reconciliation.
  • Reorder and restock medications, verify invoices.
  • Process returns and expired medications.
  • Attend department and team meetings.
  • Participate in clean-up and scheduled drug inventories.
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote integrated patient care.
  • Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and professional conduct.

Overview
