Job summary

A healthcare staffing company is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support a medical facility in Washington, DC. This is a 13-week opportunity that offers a salary range of $25 to $30 per hour based on experience. Responsibilities include staging medications, preparing compounds, and managing inventory. Applicants must have at least a high school diploma, be certified, and possess 2 years of experience. The role involves rotating shifts and requires availability on weekends.

Qualifications

  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the DC Board of Pharmacy is required.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB or NHA is necessary.
  • At least 2 years of experience and completion of at least 1 travel assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately stage medications for dose preparation.
  • Fill new drug orders and medication carts prior to pharmacist check.
  • Prepare injectable and specialty medications as needed.
  • Deliver medications to patient care areas according to procedures.
  • Perform routine inventory counts and manage medication expiration dates.

Skills

Experience with medication staging
Knowledge of pharmacy procedures

Education

Job description

Pride Health is hiring for a Pharmacy Technician to support our client’s medical facility based in Washington, DC. This is a 13-week opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Responsibilities
  • Accurately stages medications for dose preparation.
  • Fills new drug orders prior to pharmacist final check.
  • Fills medication carts prior to pharmacist final check.
  • If assigned by departmental leadership, may prepare injectable, chemotherapy, or other specialty medications according to established procedures prior to pharmacist final check.
  • Uses proper techniques to prepare sterile and non-sterile compounds for general and specialized areas as determined by departmental leadership.
  • Delivers medications to patient care areas according to procedures, within scheduled time frames and/or follows pneumatic tube procedures.
  • Performs routine inventory counts of medications, checks expiration dates, and removes all expired or recalled medications for disposal according to departmental policy
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current registration with the District of Columbia Board of Pharmacy licensure required
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification through PTCB or National Healthcareer Association NHA
  • At least 2 years of experience; Completion of at least 1 travel assignment

Location: Troutdale, OR

Pay Range: $25/hr to $30/hr

Schedule: Sunday–Saturday with rotating day and evening shifts: 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m., 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m. Weekends required every third weekend or fewer.
