Actalent, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support Pharmacist-led operations in a hospital setting in Washington, DC. You will prepare medications, label and package for dispensing, and assist with IV admixtures and medication carts under supervision.

Requirements include a Pharmacy Technician certification, DC license active, PTCB certification, and 1–2 years hospital/oncology or retail pharmacy experience. This contract-to-hire, on-site role offers competitive pay and benefits.

  • Assist patients, nurses, physicians, and others with medication order requests.
  • Monitor stock inventory levels and medication expiration dates.
  • Replenish medications and conduct periodic inspections of areas.
  • Fill and replace medications in automated dispensing machines and transport to units.
  • Prepare IV admixtures using aseptic techniques including STATS and parenteral nutrition.

  • Prepare IV admixtures using aseptic techniques, including STATS, parenteral nutrition bags, and cytotoxic agents.
  • Deliver and retrieve medications, including narcotics, and pharmacy supplies to/from patient care and satellite pharmacy areas.
  • Compound products in bulk, or per individual order, and prepare private stock orders and individual unit-of-use packaging.
  • Complete and maintain controlled substance inventory log/records.
  • Effectively perform all pharmacy technician duties in all pharmacy locations including the OR pharmacy.
  • Assist the pharmacy Technician in orienting new Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Technician students.
  • Maintain clean and orderly workstations.
Essential Skills
  • Pharmacy technician certification

Work Environment

This position is located in a hospital setting with rotating shifts from 7:00am to 3:30pm and 3:00pm to 11:00pm, Monday to Friday, with every other weekend and rotating holidays. The role involves working in various pharmacy locations, including the OR pharmacy.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
