Job summary

Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services in Farmington Hills, MI. The role involves sterile compounding, IV admixtures, and inventory management in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Fills medication orders including oral, injectable and topical medications and IV admixtures.
• Assists in bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products and restocks shelves.
• Documents medications and IV solutions, enters charges into the computer.
• Distributes medications to patient care areas and other departments as needed.
• Maintains a safe, clean work area and follows 797 clean room guidelines.

About Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital

Corewell Health Farmington Hills opened on Jan. 19, 1965 as a 200-bed facility known then as Botsford General Hospital. Today, Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is a 305-bed teaching facility with Level II trauma status.

Scope of work

Fills medication orders including oral, injectable and topical medications and intravenous admixtures.
Assists in the bulk manufacturing of special pharmaceutical products. Prepares and distributes floor stock items in response to requisition forms. Inventories and restocks shelves in immediate work area, checks for outdated drugs. Enters charges and credits into the computer for all medications and IV admixtures dispensed from the Pharmacy, documents all medications and IV solutions returned to the Pharmacy. Distributes prepared medications to patient care areas and/or other departments of the Hospital. Performs necessary record keeping functions. Answers telephone and assists at Pharmacy window. May rotate within hospital and out-patient pharmacy service areas as required. Maintains the work area in a safe, orderly manner. Follows appropriate clean room (797) guidelines in the preparation of intravenous admixtures

Qualifications

• High school diploma program or GED.
• Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program. Preferred
• LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
• LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
