Job summary

Prismhr Hire is seeking a Pharmacy Technician in Tallahassee, FL. The role requires interpreting prescription orders, entering data into the prescription system, selecting and filling medications, and maintaining inventory.

You will educate patients and support daily dispensing while ensuring proper storage, sanitation, and compliance. The candidate must have at least two years of pharmacy tech experience, an active Florida pharmacy technician certification, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Must hold Florida state certification as a pharmacy technician.
• Must hold an active CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Interpret prescription orders from traditional or EMR entries.
• Enter prescriptions into the pharmacy computer system and print labels.
• Select medications and fill prescriptions.
• Inventory medications and notify supervisors of low stock.
• Interact with patients and provide medication education.
• Assist staff and pharmacist with daily prescriptions.
• Run the daily pill line and dispense as ordered.
• Store drugs per manufacturer recommendations (refrigeration, protection from heat/light).
• Address questions with the Chief Pharmacist.
• Keep medication profiles current and updated.
• Maintain proper sanitation within the pharmacy.

Job description

NEEDED: Pharmacy Technician

LOCATION: Tallahassee, FL 32301

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week.

QUALIFICATION:

• Must have at a minimum two years of experience working as a pharmacy technician
• Must possess a Florida state certification as a pharmacy technician
• Must hold an active and maintain a CPR certification.
• Failure to submit evidentiary documentation of education, qualifications, and certifications may result in elimination from consideration.

JOB DUTIES:

• Interpreting medical/dental staff prescription orders. These orders may be the traditional physical prescription or orders taken from entries of the patient’s electronic medical file.
• Entering prescriptions into the pharmacy’s prescription computer system and printing prescription labels.
• Selecting the correct medication and filling the prescriptions.
• Inventorying medications and supplies, recording items that are low in stocking levels, and advising the Chief Pharmacist and Health Services Administrator of medications that need ordering.
• Interacting with patients regarding their medications and providing patient education about the medication and;
• Assisting the medical staff and pharmacist with filling and preparing daily prescriptions.
• Will on a routine basis run the daily pill line and dispense medication as ordered and directed.
• Ensure that all drugs and supplies are stored according to manufactures recommendations, i.e., refrigeration or protection from heat and light.
• Address any questions and concerns with the Chief Pharmacist.
• Ensure medication profile is current and updated.
• Ensure the appropriate sanitation is maintained within the pharmacy.
