Brown University is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support Pharmacist staff with daily duties, prescription interpretation, patient data entry, and courteous service. The role also handles inventory, wholesale orders, and internal/external billing with strict adherence to policies.
This onsite, full-time position in Health Services requires a high school diploma, at least 2 years of pharmacy experience, and Pharmacy Technician II certification, with a 37.5-hour work week.
The Pharmacy Technician provides assistance to the Pharmacist staff in all daily duties while complying with State and Federal laws and Pharmacy policies and procedures. These duties include providing courteous service, maintaining a clean and orderly appearance of the pharmacy area, collecting and entering patient information into QS1, interpreting prescription orders and their preparation. The technician also manages incoming telephone calls, providing necessary information, or directs them to the appropriate staff. Other duties include managing inventory levels, placing orders with wholesalers, and maintaining appropriate cash controls and internal/external billing.
