At CVS Health, we are focused on transforming health care for our customers and making our company a great place to work. We help people navigate the health care system – and their personal health care – by improving access, lowering costs, and being a trusted partner for every meaningful moment of health. Within our Retail locations, we bring this promise to life with heart every day, and our Pharmacy Technicians (Technicians) play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise.

As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist our patients and customers to deliver an exceptional experience. They assist in ensuring pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and that caring service exceeds patient expectations.

Technicians operate as part of the pharmacy team by applying Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication. They demonstrate genuine care and contribute to a safe, inclusive culture where all people feel valued and empowered. Once in role, Technicians must complete a rigorous training program and meet all registration, licensing, and certification requirements per State’s Board of Pharmacy guidelines. Duties may be restricted until all requirements are satisfied.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Living our purpose by following all SOPs to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  2. Following pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  3. Contributing to positive patient experiences through empathy and genuine care, including immunizations and other services.
  4. Completing inventory activities as permitted by law and directed by leadership.
  5. Supporting a high-performing team, embracing growth, and seeking knowledge to assist patients better.
  6. Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to different stores as needed.
  7. Understanding and complying with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies to ensure safety, compliance, and privacy.
  8. Delivering additional healthcare services like immunizations, which may require additional licensure and training.

Where permissible, the Technician may support vaccination efforts by completing additional licensure, educating patients, monitoring adverse reactions, and managing vaccine supplies.
