Job summary

Red Rock Behavioral Health Services in Oklahoma City seeks a Pharmacy Technician to prepare prescriptions under the Pharmacist in Charge and manage stock replenishments. You will enter data, assist with drug security, and support daily pharmacy operations.

The role involves inventory control, keeping the environment clean, and participating in continuing education to support treatment for co-occurring disorders. On-site work with regular training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a pharmacy technician training course, or a minimum of 1 year of on-the-job training.
  • National certification preferred, but not required.
  • State licensing, as required.
  • Must complete all in-service and external training requirements.
  • Commitment to the mission of Red Rock BHS.
  • Two years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security.
  • Keeps pharmacy stock and supplies clean and orderly.
  • Enters data in computer system; records prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements.
  • Removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal.
  • Performs general clerical duties for the department.
  • Supports care plans for consumers within Red Rock Health Team.
  • Attends staff meetings, workshops, and seminars to learn agency policy and procedures; participates in ongoing training.
  • Performs other duties as required.

SUMMARY

Prepares prescriptions and provides other health-care products under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Prepares prescriptions for dispensing by the pharmacist and fills stock replacements

  • Makes requisitions for drugs and supplies with professional guidance from the pharmacist

  • Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security

  • Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment, including cleanliness of pharmacy stock and supplies

  • Enters data in computer system; records all prescriptions, purchase orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements

  • Under direction of pharmacist, removes unneeded or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal

  • Performs general clerical duties for the department

  • Maintains core competencies in relation to working with co-occurring disorders through continuing education and implementing skills into all aspects of treatment

  • Attends staff meetings, workshops, and seminars to learn agency policy, rules, regulations, and procedures; participates in on-going in-service training as well as external training

  • Supports and assists with the facilitation of Care Plans for consumers within the Red Rock Health Team

  • Performs other duties as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Must have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time

  • Must have the ability to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 25 pounds

  • Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time

  • Ability to use telephone, PC, fax machine, copy machine, and printer
