Job summary

Cardinal Health supports inpatient pharmacy services for PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of South Point. We are hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician (Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm) to assist the Pharmacist with prescription preparation, inventory, and product returns.

This role requires an Ohio pharmacy technician license or ability to obtain one, and a national certification (PTCB). IV compounding, Pyxis experience, and prior hospital experience are preferred. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ohio State Pharmacy Technician license or ability to obtain license is required.
  • National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) is required.
  • IV compounding experience is required.
  • In-patient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Pharmacy buying/purchasing experience preferred.
  • Pyxis experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Pharmacist as needed, permitted by State Boards of Pharmacy.
  • Maintains a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Inputs patient data and prescription information into the pharmacy information management system.
  • Takes inventory, places orders, checks in drugs and supplies, stocks shelves and removes out-of-date items from the inventory.
  • Communicates with all customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Maintains knowledge of and abides by all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
