We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a full-time, day shift role.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Receiving, reviewing, and accurately entering prescriptions and refill requests into the pharmacy system.
- Preparing and packaging medications by counting, measuring, pouring, and labeling according to provider orders.
- Verifying prescription labels, auxiliary labels, and patient information for accuracy.
- Processing third-party prescriptions, including insurance claims, rejections, and prior authorizations under pharmacist supervision.
- Maintaining updated patient profiles, including allergies, demographics, and medication histories.
- Assisting patients at the counter and via phone, resolving basic questions, and triaging clinical issues to pharmacists.
- Handling point-of-sale transactions and managing prescription pickups and returns.
- Monitoring, rotating, and restocking inventory, including removing expired or damaged products.
- Preparing medications for automated dispensing systems and loading pharmacy technology.
- Adhering to all regulations, safety standards, and pharmacy policies.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and secure work environment and collaborating with team members to ensure safe patient care.
Qualifications And Skills Include
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Active pharmacy technician license/registration or eligibility to obtain one.
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in retail, outpatient, long-term care, or hospital settings.
- Strong math skills, high attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Excellent customer service, communication skills, and professionalism.
- Familiarity with medication processing and ability to pass background and drug screening.
