Job summary

Health Care Administrators Association seeks a dedicated Pharmacy Technician for a full-time, day shift role. You will handle prescriptions, prepare medications, and maintain patient profiles in a active retail/healthcare setting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active pharmacy technician license/registration or eligibility to obtain one.
  • At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in retail, outpatient, long-term care, or hospital settings.
  • Strong math skills, high attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service, communication skills, and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with medication processing and ability to pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, reviewing, and accurately entering prescriptions and refill requests into the pharmacy system.
  • Preparing and packaging medications by counting, measuring, pouring, and labeling according to provider orders.
  • Verifying prescription labels, auxiliary labels, and patient information for accuracy.
  • Processing third-party prescriptions, including insurance claims, rejections, and prior authorizations under pharmacist supervision.
  • Maintaining updated patient profiles, including allergies, demographics, and medication histories.
  • Assisting patients at the counter and via phone, resolving basic questions, and triaging clinical issues to pharmacists.
  • Handling point-of-sale transactions and managing prescription pickups and returns.
  • Monitoring, rotating, and restocking inventory, including removing expired or damaged products.
  • Preparing medications for automated dispensing systems and loading pharmacy technology.
  • Adhering to all regulations, safety standards, and pharmacy policies.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and secure work environment and collaborating with team members to ensure safe patient care.
