Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions and orders through dispensing workflow.
• Enter accurate prescription data and maintain patient and order information.
• Prepare labels and organize medications for dispensing.
• Stage completed prescriptions for pharmacist review and verification.
• Package and prepare prescriptions for delivery or shipment.
• Maintain dispensing records, lot numbers, expiry dates and inventory.
• Support inventory management and day-to-day operations.
• Identify discrepancies and escalate workflow issues.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and technicians to maintain throughput.
• Follow procedures and regulations to ensure high-volume accuracy.

I am representing a rapidly growing compounding pharmacy organization in New Orleans, Louisiana that is expanding its operations and looking to hire multiple Pharmacy Technicians to join its dispensing team.

This is an opportunity to join a high-growth pharmacy environment supporting a large and growing volume of patient prescriptions. The team is continuing to expand and is looking for Pharmacy Technicians who can work accurately, efficiently, and consistently in a fast-paced operation.

This role is focused on prescription processing, dispensing, labeling, order preparation, packaging, fulfillment, and supporting the daily workflow of a high-volume compounding pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions and patient orders through the pharmacy dispensing and fulfillment workflow.
• Complete accurate prescription data entry and maintain patient, medication, prescriber, and order information within the pharmacy system.
• Prepare prescription labels and organize medications and orders for dispensing.
• Stage completed prescriptions for pharmacist review and final verification.
• Package and prepare prescriptions for patient delivery and shipment.
• Maintain accurate dispensing, lot, expiration, BUD, inventory, and order documentation.

Requirements

• Active Louisiana Pharmacy Technician Certificate or Pharmacy Technician Candidate Registration, or ability to obtain the appropriate Louisiana credential.
• Previous Pharmacy Technician, dispensing, prescription processing, pharmacy fulfillment, or related experience preferred.
• Experience within compounding pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill, hospital pharmacy, retail pharmacy, or another high-volume pharmacy setting is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working at pace.
• Comfortable working fully on-site in New Orleans, Louisiana.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy operations teams.
