Job summary

FountainRx Specialty Pharmacy in Morristown, TN is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support daily operations, assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, and maintain inventory while delivering outstanding customer service. Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Tennessee license.

Responsibilities

• Process and fill prescriptions accurately across all departments.
• Greet customers, answer phones, assist inquiries and handle payments.
• Assist the pharmacist with opening/closing procedures and records keeping.
• Maintain inventory and support facilities management as needed.
• Participate in meetings and quality assurance activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by partners or their designee.

Education

The technician will contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the pharmacy.

Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Technician include the following:

• Demonstrates a knowledge regarding processing and filling prescriptions across all departments. Standards for accuracy and completeness shall be consistently met. Prescriptions services will be provided in an orderly, efficient, and expeditious manner.
• Greet, answer phones and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner; answer customer inquiries, provide information on pharmacy services, handle cash register transactions and manage customer payments.
• Assist the pharmacist with operational tasks including, but not limited to, opening and closing procedures, accurate non-controlled and controlled-substance record keeping and facilities management.
• Flexibility in the daily work environment is crucial. Work assignments may vary from day to day based on changing needs and personnel availability. The proper disposition is expected and is a key component in the provision of healthcare operations and services. Coordination with other departments should be expected and is required.
• Support for inventory control for the retail area and other areas as assigned is expected. Assist with ordering and restocking of prescription medications, OTC items, vials, bottles and other pharmacy supplies.
• Participation in routine personnel meetings is expected. In addition, periodic involvement in quality assurance programs as well as other reporting functions may be necessary. Demonstrate team spirit.
• Other projects, activities, or responsibilities assigned at the discretion of the partners or their designee.

Minimum Qualifications

• Tennessee-registered Pharmacy Technician; certification is preferred.
• Minimum two years experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred.
• Computer skills that include word processing and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.
• Current, unrestricted Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license.

Physical Requirements

• The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit, as well as talk and hear.
• Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to lift up to at least 30 pounds
