Job summary

Muskegon Family Care is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our supportive team in Muskegon, MI. This role includes entering prescriptions in QS1, maintaining patient records in the EHR, and assisting pharmacists with fills and labels.

Required: High School Diploma or GED and Michigan Pharmacy Technician License. Benefits include PTO, holiday pay, tuition reimbursement, and 401K matching. Schedule: weekdays with rotating evenings and some Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician License required.
  • Three to six months’ related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Computer and Medical Terminology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Enter prescription orders into QS1 accurately and efficiently.
  • Create and update patient profiles in the EHR with demographics, allergies, and insurance details.
  • Count prescriptions per hour accurately and ensure correct prescriptions are provided.
  • Answer the phone in a timely manner and support pharmacists with filling and labeling.

SCHEDULE: M-F 9:45 AM-6:15 PM WITH A ROTATING LATE-NIGHT THURSDAY 10:45 AM- 7:15 PM AND OCCASIONAL SATURDAY 9 AM- 12 PM

Muskegon Family Care is looking for a FULL-TIME Pharmacy Technician to join our Supportive & Collaborative Team. Position Overview
  • Enter prescription orders into QS1 accurately and efficiently.
  • Creates and updates patients’ personal profiles in EHR including patient demographics, allergy information, and insurance information.
  • Counts 25 prescriptions per hour accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensures that the patient receives correct prescriptions.
  • Answer the phone in a timely manner.
  • Assists Pharmacists with filling and labeling prescriptions.
  • Communicate with providers and their staff to obtain refill authorization.
  • Knowledge of common medication brands and generic names, doses, and indication to patients and staff.
  • Collect cash and/ or credit for payment of prescriptions
  • Understanding of medical terminology
  • Ability to respect confidentiality and patient data
  • Maintains a courteous, helpful and conscientious attitude in dealing with co-workers and patients and their families, always ensuring professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Keeps the work area neat and clean.
  • Regular and prompt attendance at work.
  • All other duties as assigned.
