Tri-City Cardiology Consultants Pc is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to join our East Mesa team. The position supports patients with medication refills and prescription questions, working closely with clinicians and staff to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care.

The role involves processing refills, authorizations, and patient education across multiple locations, with local travel between North Gilbert, South Gilbert and East Mesa. Competitive benefits and a Monday–Friday schedule are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician is required.
• One year of Pharmacy Tech experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes prescription refill requests and coordinates with pharmacies and patients to complete them on time.
• Adheres to policy and DEA regulations for Erx, mail order, and faxed prescriptions.
• Handles prior authorizations, completes forms, and coordinates peer-to-peer reviews and denials when needed.
• Informs physicians, medical assistants and patients about medication information and interactions; educates patients about their medications within scope of practice.

Position Location: East Mesa - Main and Power

Travel: Required to work between North Gilbert, South Gilbert and East Mesa

Schedule: 40 hours per week - Five 8 hour day shifts Monday - Friday

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY

This position assists patients with medication refills and prescription questions as needed in patient care. This position works collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical personnel, physicians, and all ancillary services. This position is responsible for completing medication audits, prior authorizations, answering phone calls and tasks, and informing medical assistants, physicians and patients as it relates to medication information.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Receives and processes faxed prescription refill requests and collaborates with pharmacies and patients as needed to process these requests within expected time frame.
2. Follows TCC policy and procedure as well as DEA regulations relative to processing Erx, mail order, and faxed prescriptions.
3. Requires knowledge of Prior Authorization processes, ability to complete forms, reviews chart for required information, documentation of process, collaborate with providers, and coordinate peer to peer reviews and management of appeal and denial processes.
4. Responsible for informing medical assistants, physicians and patients as it relates to medication information, medication interactions, assistant programs, insurance coverage, sample ordering and distribution at multiple locations.
5. Maintains updated knowledge of cardiac medications, formularies, and pharmacy processes.
6. Accurately updates and documents patient medications and allergies in patient record.
7. Reviews and educates patients regarding their medications within scope of practice.
8. Ensures the sample medications closets are: inventoried, cleaned and date labeled appropriately at multiple locations.
9. Acts as liaison between physicians, staff and pharmaceutical reps to receive medication samples, patient assistant program information, and educational material at multiple locations.

TRAVEL

Local travel to other Tri City Cardiology locations is required during the business day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician
• One year of Pharmacy Tech experience required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Cardiology experience preferred.
