QuadMed is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our Menomonee Falls pharmacy team in a full-time role with a consistent weekday schedule and no weekends, supporting a great work-life balance.

The Pharmacy Technician will assist the Pharmacist with prescription filling, distribution, and clerical tasks under supervision, ensuring accurate data entry and excellent customer service in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; pharmacy tech program preferred.
• Minimum three months experience in retail or hospital pharmacy.
• Current CPR (BLS) certification or eligibility within 60 days.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician in WI or proof of application.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacist in filling prescriptions and entering patient data.
• Provide courteous customer service and maintain a clean, inviting pharmacy.
• Assist with third-party insurance claims reconciliation and billing.
• Stock, rotate, and label products; ensure HIPAA confidentiality.
• Operate cashier and process payments; manage overstock and pricing.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Pharmacy Technician will assist the Pharmacist in the areas of prescription filling, prescription distribution and clerical activities while under the Pharmacist’s supervision at all times. This position should increase patient confidence and loyalty to the pharmacy by providing consistent operating conditions, courteous and prompt service, and a friendly atmosphere. This role will accurately and courteously express pharmacy policies and procedures to the customer when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of prescriptions including entering patient information (demographics, drug allergies and pharmaceutical history) and prescription orders into the pharmacy system for processing
• Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions by pulling stock, pouring, counting, restocking, packaging, labeling and pricing the prescription
• Provides excellent customer service by greeting customers as they enter the pharmacy, keeping the pharmacy clean and inviting, and answering the phone in a courteous manner
• Assists Pharmacist in the preparation, reconciliation and billing of third-party insurance claims and in the re-billing of rejected third party claims
• Assists in checking and removing out-of-date product as instructed by the pharmacist
• Orders, receives, rotates and stores product to assure quality controls
• Reconciles daily merchandise orders
• Maintains confidentiality in compliance of federal HIPAA regulations
• Organizes and files records
• Maintains all product labels, signs and prices aligned with product
• Keeps work area clean, orderly and free from safety hazards; report hazards to the pharmacist or manager
• Operates the cashier terminal and the credit card machine when checking our customers; collect proper payment for merchandise
• Repacks and consolidates supply overstock (e.g., vials, caps, bottles, etc.)

SCOPE

• Will provide pharmacy services in our licensed pharmacies or dispensing sites for select patients.

Job Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Graduate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program preferred

Experience

• Minimum three (3) months experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Current CPR (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 60 days of hire
• All WI candidates hired in this position after March 1, 2023, must apply for registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) and provide proof of application upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to work standing for most of your shift
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft office applications and electronic mail. Experience with electronic medical records and/or pharmacy systems
• Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations and a demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusion.
• Knowledge of pharmacy standards, policies, and procedures, and of third-party insurance
• Exceptional customer service, communication, organization, problem resolution and process development skills
• Bilingual a plus
