PharmcareUSA of Lubbock is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with dispensing, filling and IV compounding within a long-term care setting. The role requires state certification and full-time availability, including weekends.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacist with input, filling and dispensing prescriptions.
• Perform filling and IV compounding with accuracy and speed.
• Fill prescriptions following regulatory rules and regulations.
• Answer calls and assist or route to Pharmacist as needed.
• Prepare medications for delivery to facilities per schedule.
• Assist walk-ins and direct to appropriate department.
• Assist with ordering medications and inventory management.
• Support medication returns and E-Kit management.
• Maintain Pharmacy Technician license/certification.
• Adhere to corporate initiatives and use provided tools/resources.

Job description

PharmcareUSA of Lubbock is seeking a Pharmacy Technician!!

Pay is commensurate with experience in LTC Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Life Insurance, FSA/ HSA, Paid time off and Holidays available for full time employees. Candidate must be certified as a pharmacy technician in the state in which they will be working, and available to work Full Time, including weekends.

Essential Functions:

• Assist Pharmacist with input (when appropriate), filling and dispensing of all prescriptions
• Perform all filling and / or IV compounding of prescriptions with accuracy and reasonable speed
• Fill prescriptions per rules and regulations of all regulatory entities
• Answer telephone calls, assist caller when appropriate, or enlist Pharmacist to assist if appropriate
• Prepare medications to be delivered to facility per delivery schedule
• Assist any walk-in customers or direct to appropriate department
• Assist with ordering of medications from wholesaler along with proper inventory management
• Assist with Medication Returns and E-Kit management
• Maintain Pharmacy Technician License/Certification
• Will comply with all Corporate Initiatives and utilize provided tools/resources as appropriate
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment such as calculators, copy machines and printers up to 100% of the time;
• Regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate effectively over the phone and in person;
• Must be able to see 100% of the time to recognize medications, detect inaccuracies, and observe the work of others with or without correction;
• This position is very active and requires standing for long periods, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching and stooping;
• Must be able to lift and/or transport materials weighing up to 25 pounds, up to 10% of the time;
• Must be able to tolerate normal office/pharmacy environment and exposure to various medications
