Job summary

PharmcareUSA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in long-term care settings. The role includes dispensing, IV compounding where appropriate, and assisting with inventory and returns.

Candidates must be certified as a pharmacy technician in the working state and can expect a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401K for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Candidate must be certified as a pharmacy technician in the state in which they will be working.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacist with input, filling and dispensing of all prescriptions.
• Perform all filling and / or IV compounding of prescriptions with accuracy and reasonable speed.
• Fill prescriptions per rules and regulations of all regulatory entities.
• Answer telephone calls, assist caller when appropriate, or enlist Pharmacist to assist if appropriate.
• Prepare medications to be delivered to facility per delivery schedule.
• Assist any walk-in customers or direct to appropriate department.
• Assist with ordering of medications from wholesaler along with proper inventory management.
• Assist with Medication Returns and E-Kit management.
• Maintain Pharmacy Technician License/Certification.
• Will comply with all Corporate Initiatives and utilize provided tools/resources as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned

Candidate must be certified as a pharmacy technician in the state in which they will be working.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
• Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment such as calculators, copy machines and printers up to 100% of the time;
• Regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate effectively over the phone and in person;
• Must be able to see 100% of the time to recognize medications, detect inaccuracies, and observe the work of others with or without correction;
• This position is very active and requires standing for long periods, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching and stooping;
• Must be able to lift and/or transport materials weighing up to 25 pounds, up to 10% of the time;
• Must be able to tolerate normal office/pharmacy environment and exposure to various medications
