Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to work under the Medicare Pharmacy area, providing primary operational support and ensuring health, safety, and cost efficiency of medications for members.

Responsibilities include regulatory compliance, reporting, and collaboration with the Medicare Pharmacy Team. Requires a CPhT, at least five years in a pharmacy setting, and familiarity with PBM and adjudication processes.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in a pharmacy environment required.
  • Knowledge of medications and common indications.
  • Understanding of insurance claims, PBM, and adjudication procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that regulatory compliance and strict timelines are met, policies are carried out, and objectives are accomplished.
  • Participates in staff meetings to ensure appropriate information is reported and communicated.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Supports the Medicare Pharmacy Team with operational duties and tasks.
  • Troubleshoots, reports, and follows-up with findings from daily reports.

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician works closely with Pharmacists under the Medicare area to ensure the health and safety of Arkansas BlueCross BlueShield members while helping to ensure the availability and cost efficiency of in-demand medications and prescriptions. The incumbent serves as primary operational support for the Medicare Pharmacy area.

Requirements
EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent required.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Experience & Knowledge

Minimum five (5) years' experience in a pharmacy environment required. Knowledge of medications and common indications. Understanding of insurance claims, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), and adjudication procedures preferred.

Essential Abilities

Ability to accomplish tasks with limited supervision. Eagerness to research and learn Medicare law changes year over year.
