• Knowledge of infection control and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Process prescriptions and label medications.
• Run insurance claims for payment and prior authorizations.
• Complete cash transactions and prepare drugs for pick-up.
• Manage patient enrollment and re-enrollment processes.
• Maintain drug inventory and order as needed.
• Answer designated office dispensary refill line and schedule follow-ups.
• Perform clerical tasks as assigned by the pharmacy manager.

Pharmacy Technician – Certified

Leesburg, VA

Pay From: $25 per hour

Requirements

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)


• Pharmacy technician certification from an accredited medical vocational course required


• Active Virginia Pharmacy Tech license


• Ability to type 60 words per minute using word-processing software. Able to learn/use other computer programs including Microsoft Excel, e-mail, Internet, and Microsoft PowerPoint


• Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions


• Ability to sort and file materials correctly using alphabetic or numeric systems


• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely


• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and other clinical staff, and the public


• Knowledge of pharmacy technician tasks that include processing prescriptions, labeling medications, running insurance claims for payment


• Knowledge of infection control and safety standards

Duties

• Processing of erectile dysfunction drugs (Sildenafil, Tadalafil)


• Completing cash transactions


• Processing Oncolytic drugs – paid by insurance


• Doing insurance prior AUTH's


• Run insurance claims for payment for these drugs


• Foundation patient enrollment


• Grant balance and re-enrollment management


• Perform monthly refills


• Take payments for refills/new rx, posting, and creating claims in EMR for all drugs


• Preparing drugs for pick-up


• Submitting medication orders onto an outside pharmacy's website: Compounds


• Taking payments, posting payments, and claim creation for these drugs


• Keeping inventory for drugs


• Ordering Drugs as needed


• Answer designated office dispensary refill phone line


• Schedule patients that need necessary annual follow-ups for rx renewals


• Any other clerical tasks as assigned by the pharmacy manager
