Pharmacy Technician at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. The pharmacy unit plays a vital role in ensuring medication safety. The unit is responsible for dispensing medications accurately and efficiently, maintaining comprehensive medication inventory and control, including narcotics and controlled substances. This includes selecting, calculating, measuring, preparing (both sterile and non-sterile), packaging, labeling, charging, and crediting various pharmacy products such as intravenous medications. The pharmacy also ensures compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
A Pharmacy Technician who excels in this role:
Applicants should have a current PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification within 1 year of hire or actively pursuing certification (not to exceed an additional 6 months) or licensed practical nurse, and possess a high school graduate or equivalent education.
