Job summary

St. Mary's Healthcare Amsterdam is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy team in dispensing medications and maintaining inventories. You will prepare, label, and distribute medications under supervision, ensuring accuracy and safety in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; Pharmacy Technician credentials are preferred. The position offers day and weekend shifts with a 40-hour work week and a competitive hourly pay range.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare, label, and distribute medications under a pharmacist's supervision.
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing cabinets, medication carts, and kits.
• Deliver medications to nursing units and patient care areas in a timely manner.
• Maintain and rotate medication inventory, including removal of expired products.
• Prepack medications from bulk bottles into unit-dose packaging with accurate labeling.
• Receive, verify, and stock pharmaceutical medications and supplies.
• Prepare medication orders for the pharmacy department.
• Communicate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses, and health care team members.
• Identify and report medication discrepancies, errors, or safety concerns.
• Certified technicians may perform expanded duties based on qualifications.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Shift: Days & Weekends

Hours Per Week: 40 hr./week

Hiring Range: $18.39 - $24.59/hr.

Below are the shift differentials based on eligible shifts worked:

• Weekday evening shift - additional 10%
• Weekday night shift - additional 15%
• Weekend day shift - additional 10%
• Weekend evening & night shifts - additional 21%

The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Pharmacy Technician experience preferred.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Pharmacy Technician credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or,
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
