Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support our inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The role involves daily pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, with independence in routine tasks and no direct patient care.

Responsibilities include picking up drug orders, delivering medications, assisting with billing, maintaining the formulary, and ensuring narcotics control records are accurate. A HS diploma and state registration are required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • State registration or eligibility of required.
  • Current State Board of Pharmacy Registration Certificate as a Pharmacy Technician required by the State.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily pharmacy operations within established policies and guidelines.
  • Work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and may work independently.
  • Pick up drug orders at nursing stations and prepare medications under supervision.
  • Deliver medications to correct patient areas and assist with billing and crediting of patient medications.
  • Maintain formulary compliance, order, receive, store, and document paperwork.
  • Monitor doses per MAR and narcotics control procedures.

Position: Pharmacy Technician

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday rotating shifts 8am-4pm and 12pm-8pm (Includes Weekday & Weekend Shifts)

Compensation: $22 - $30 (Based on Experience) + Shift Differential

  • You will complete a variety of pharmacy tasks and services, including being responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy within the established policies and guidelines.
  • You will work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, and you are able to work independently. You will not provide direct care to patients.
  • Picking up drug orders at the nursing station(s) and preparing medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift.
  • Delivering the appropriate quantities of the medication to the correct patient area(s).
  • Assisting with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
  • Maintaining drugs in the pharmacy in accordance with the Drug Formulary, to include ordering, receiving, storing, and filling out all necessary paperwork.
  • Monitoring doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign-out record.
  • Maintaining all forms and reports necessary for the control of narcotics and other controlled substances.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • State registration or eligibility of required
  • Current State Board of Pharmacy Registration Certificate as a Pharmacy Technician required by the State
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to two year's experience as a Pharmacy Technician
