Job summary

Charlotte Community Health Clinic, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to work under the supervision of a Pharmacist. You will prepare medications, verify prescriptions, and manage patient profiles while assisting with OTC questions and processing payments.

Minimum qualifications include a valid NC Pharmacy Technician license, 3+ years of experience, and current BLS certification within 90 days. The role requires strong time management and confidentiality.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Receive prescriptions or refill requests and verify information is complete and accurate.
  • Enter prescription information into the computer and manage patient profiles.
  • Answer phone calls and assist patients with OTC products, referring complex questions to Pharmacist.
  • Assist with ordering, labeling, and stocking medications and supplies; operate cash register.
  • Handle third-party rejections, pull expired stock, and maintain a neat work area.

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician prepares medications under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist. This position mixes, counts, measures, labels, and records dosages of medications according to prescriptions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
  • Enter prescription information into the computer.
  • Create and update patient profiles as needed and within scope.
  • Answers phone calls to answer questions and intake requests.
  • Assist patients with locating over the counter (OTC) medications and refer them to Pharmacist for more complex questions around medications.
  • Assist in ordering, labeling, and keeping stock of medications, medical supplies, etc.
  • Operates cash register to take patient payments.
  • Receive supply orders and unpack into necessary areas.
  • Restock prescriptions when applicable.
  • Assist with third-party rejections.
  • Pull expired stock from shelves.
  • Keep work area neat organized.
  • Handle customer complaints and escalat as needed.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and follow all HIPAA/legal guidelines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A valid Pharmacy Technician license in the state of North Carolina.
  • 3+ years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Current BLS certification (required within first 90-days of employment).
