Job summary

SuiteMate Healthcare Staffing in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a full-time contract assignment. This role supports daily pharmacy operations under licensed supervision and requires attention to detail, integrity, and patient safety.

Shifts include Monday–Friday, typically 7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, with 9 consecutive days of mandatory training. Registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy must be current and maintained throughout the assignment.

Qualifications

• Currently registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Maintain active Pharmacy Technician registration throughout the assignment.
• Experience in pharmaceutical assistance or pharmacy technician work.
• Strong attention to detail and medication safety practices.
• Dependable, professional, and able to follow established policies and procedures.
• Complete all pre-employment and compliance requirements before starting.

Responsibilities

• Support daily pharmacy operations under supervision of licensed pharmacists.
• Manage inventory and medication supply functions.
• Prepare medications for final verification by a pharmacist.
• Deliver medications to designated patient care areas.
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation.
• Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed.
• Follow established pharmacy procedures, safety standards, and medication-handling requirements.
• Exercise initiative and independent judgment within the pharmacist's scope.

We are currently seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician for a full-time contract assignment in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong pharmacy operations experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and patient safety.

Available Shifts

• Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
• No 12-hour shifts
• Candidates must be available for 9 consecutive days of mandatory training, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Training availability is required and non-negotiable

Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will support daily pharmacy operations while working under the supervision and direction of licensed pharmacy professionals.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist with inventory management and medication supply functions
• Prepare medications for final verification by a pharmacist
• Deliver medications to designated patient care areas
• Conduct medication area and medication room inspections
• Assist with manual and automated medication repackaging
• Provide technical assistance related to pharmacy operations
• Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation
• Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed
• Follow established pharmacy procedures, safety standards, and medication-handling requirements
• Exercise initiative and independent judgment within the scope permitted for a registered Pharmacy Technician
• Maintain professional, legal, and ethical standards at all times
• Perform additional pharmacy-related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

• Be currently registered as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
• Maintain active Pharmacy Technician registration throughout the assignment
• Have previous experience in pharmaceutical assistance or pharmacy technician work
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and medication safety practices
• Be dependable, professional, and able to follow established policies and procedures
• Be able to successfully complete all required pre-employment and compliance requirements before starting

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Pyxis MedStation
• Experience conducting medication room inspections
• Experience with manual and automated medication repackaging

Assignment & Compliance Requirements

• Full compliance must be completed before the candidate may begin the assignment
