Job summary

Compass Government Solutions seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support the William Beaumont Army Medical Center at Fort Bliss, Texas, in a DoD-procured proposal. The role involves processing prescriptions, maintaining stock, and coordinating with pharmacists to ensure safe medication use.

Qualifications

Compass Government Solutions is seeking aPharmacy Technician to provide services at theWilliam Beaumont Army Medical CenterinFort Bliss, Texas.

This opportunity is part of aproposal effort. We are currently accepting applications from experienced candidates to be considered if the contract is awarded.

Monday - Friday 5 AM to 4:30 PM (Subject to change in support of the mission)

Job Duties

Duties shall consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

• Receive and process orders for prescriptions. Screen ordersand prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and conformity to laws andregulations.
• Receive and review prescriptions forpharmaceuticals.Determinetype of substance, strength, dosage, and quantity to be dispensed in accordance with accepted practice and pharmacy standingoperatingprocedures(SOPs). Coordinate with CP andPharmacist to clarify issues or problems with dosing, interactions, orinstructions.
• Obtainthepharmaceutical,preparepackagelabels,visuallyinspectthemedicationinthebottle tobedispensed, and verify theappropriate medication. Check the printed label affixed to the container against the original prescription forcorrectness.
• When the prescription has been filled and labeled,containeris set aside for a final check by thePharmacist.
• Provideinstructiontopatientsonproperuseofmedications,referringquestionsrequiringprofessionalknowledge and experience to a registeredPharmacist.
• Review stock levels to ensureappropriatenumber ofpharmaceuticals are on hand. Complete theinventorying, receiving, and stocking of shelves forpharmaceuticals. Prepare replenishment orders, receive incoming stock, check for discrepancies, androtate stocks/suppliesas necessary. Coordinate stock level changes asdeterminedby unusual increases or decreases in demand and seasonal requirements. Call attention to shortexpirationdates and unusual appearance ofitems.
• Conduct medication storageareasinspections.Assistin educating staff on the proper storage, access, and security ofpharmaceuticals.
• Maintain security and limited accessofallpharmaceuticals. Participate incollectionandreview ofquality assurancedata.
• Shallcomply withall MTF productivity standards andmaintaina level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
• Shallcomply withall health requirements, immunizations, and vaccinations.
• Shallcomplete all DoD, DHA, and MTF-specified training requirements.
• Shall personally record hours worked in the Defense Medical Human Resources System – internet (DMHRSi) system, or othersystem, as required by the MTF.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail0based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.

Experience

• Minimum of one (1) year experience within the last two (2) years working as a full-time pharmacy technician.

Certification

• Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
