Job summary

UVM Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee to support filling medication orders and deliveries while learning the professional skills required for a licensed technician.

The role includes managing PYXIS systems and leading daily operations, with both sterile and non-sterile preparation responsibilities as needed. Per diem scheduling allows roughly 16–20 hours weekly, with variability based on organizational needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Trainee will obtain Pharmacy Tech license with the VT Board of Pharmacy before start of employment.
• Must achieve National Certification within two years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders.
• Deliver to patient care and ancillary areas.
• Operate and manage PYXIS packer and PYXIS control cabinets.
• Serve as team leader to maintain department operations.
• Sterile and non-sterile product preparation.
