Job summary

OptiMed Health Partners is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Trainee who will train to support safe, efficient pharmacy operations and patient care. You will learn to process prescriptions, assist with insurance and copayment support, and collaborate with pharmacists, providers, and patient services teams.

This role offers hands-on training, growth toward full licensure, and a path to becoming a licensed pharmacy technician.

Qualifications

Must obtain temporary Pharmacy Technician license immediately upon hire.
Full licensure within one year.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with computer systems and insurance billing.
Detail-oriented with excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

Learn friendly service in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
Answer telephone calls professionally and promptly.
Navigate insurance plans and bill insurance accurately, including coordination of benefits.
Assist patients with copayment assistance programs.
Maintain and update patient health, allergy, demographic, and insurance records.
Work under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and learn compliance with laws.
Shadow dispensing and compounding of specialty medications.
Support packaging medications for shipment after dispensing is complete.
Shadow employees collaborating with provider offices to resolve patient-specific issues.
