The Pharmacy Sterile Compounding Regulations and Integrity supports safe, standardized, and survey-ready sterile compounding operations across the NCH health system. The technician performs sterile compounding and related inpatient pharmacy duties while coordinating the administrative controls that sustain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accreditation requirements, United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards, organizational policies, and manufacturer instructions for use.
The role maintains reliable competency and compliance records; supports environmental and equipment documentation; reinforces standardized work; and promptly escalates overdue, failed, missing, or out-of-range items. The technician works under the System Director of Pharmacy's supervision and in close partnership with the Director of Pharmacy and Technician Supervisors on each NCH campus, the infection prevention department, facilities, environmental services, quality, lab, and contracted certification vendors.
