Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician Specialist to work primarily in the Emergency Department, handling admission medication histories, medication reconciliation, and safe patient care processes. The role involves specialized activities in chemotherapy IV compounding and sterile IV preparation oversight.

The position requires ExCPT/PTCB certification and state license, 1 year of pharmacy experience, and a proactive, patient-focused approach in a fast-paced healthcare

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• ExCPT Certification and PTCB certification with State Board registration required.
• 1 year of experience in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion pharmacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify prescriptions for accuracy.
• Document patient information in line with regulatory guidelines.
• Educate and precept new technicians and students.
• Educate patients on how to take medications correctly.
• Adhere to infection-control protocols to protect staff and patients.
• Other duties as assigned by the pharmacist.
