Job summary

UP Health System Marquette is hiring an Advanced Pharmacy Technician to join our team on a 1.0 FTE, 40-hour week with varied shifts. This MAST union role offers a $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible external candidates and comprehensive benefits.

You will perform dispensing, billing, medication history collection, and assist in compounding while supporting safe, patient-centered care in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Michigan Pharmacy Technician License is required (NOT temporary or limited).
• 1 year related experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical/nursing terminology and aseptic technique is expected.

Responsibilities

• Performs dispensing and billing functions in appropriate dispensing program.
• Delivers patient-specific and floor stock medications accurately to patient care areas.
• Assists the pharmacist in medication compounding.
• Obtains accurate and timely medication history for each patient.
• Demonstrates awareness of differing physiologic requirements of patient age groups.
• Completes medication storage checks and narcotic inventory reconciliation.
• Participates in meetings as required or assigned.
• Performs general clerical duties and other related duties.
