Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Rio Rancho, NM. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will fill medication orders, pre-pack, compound pharmaceuticals, refill stock, deliver medications, and perform clerical duties as required.

The role is a full-time position with a 1.00 FTE, Day shift, and requires NM licensure with PTCB or NHA certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy Tech State of NM license required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician-PTCB certification required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician-NHA certification required.
• Preference for 1–2 years of Pharmacy Tech experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs all non-sterile medication ordering, preparation, and dispensing activities.
• Uses Pyxis, Pharmogistics, and CII safe for medication handling.
• Performs non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging, and non-sterile unit dose packaging.
• Prepares carts, trays, and kits; handles non-sterile hazardous medications and proper waste disposal.
• Delivers supplies to patient units and ancillary areas; maintains records for controlled substances.

Summary:

Presbyterian is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for filling medication orders, pre-packaging, compounding pharmaceuticals, refilling stock supplies, delivering medication, and performing various clerical duties as required.

Responsibilities:

• Performs all non-sterile medication ordering, preparation, and dispensing activities, including, but not limited to:
  • Filling medication orders for inpatient and outpatient areas of the facility
  • Use of pharmacy technology Pyxis, Pharmogistics, CII safe
  • Non-sterile compounding, labeling and repackaging.
  • Non-sterile unit dose packaging
  • Cart, tray, and kit preparation.
  • Handling of non-sterile hazardous medications
  • Proper waste or disposal
• Maintains required record-keeping for controlled and non-controlled substances.
• Delivers supplies to the patient unit and ancillary areas.
• Answers telephone and responds to questions and problems.
• Checks stock on a regular basis to identify and reorder outdated stock and ensures that stock is maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
• Responsible for adherence to the Department Compliance Plan for Controlled Substances.
• Performs other functions as required or assigned.

• OR Certified Pharmacy Technician-NHA
• Prefers 1-2 years of previous Pharmacy Tech experience
