Pay Rate: $20/hr

Contract Length: 16 weeks, with possible extension

Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Weekly Hours: 40 hours

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Patient Financial Advocate helps patients access prescription and specialty medications by managing prior authorizations, coordinating insurance approvals, and completing medication assistance and grant funding applications. The role involves working with insurance companies, using CoverMyMeds to process authorizations, and retrieving patient chart notes from Epic.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit prior authorizations for prescriptions and specialty medications through CoverMyMeds or directly to insurance companies.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience - one of the following:

High school diploma plus 3 years of relevant work experience, or

Associate's degree in a related field plus 1 year of relevant work experience.

• Minimum 1 year of experience in insurance billing, revenue cycle, and prior authorizations.
• Experience with specialty pharmaceuticals.
• Experience using Epic and CoverMyMeds is required.
• Consistent work history and professionalism.
