Job summary

Vibra Hospital SE Michigan - Taylor Campus is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Tech to join our team. Under pharmacist supervision, you will prepare and distribute medications, including IV admixtures, and manage inventory and patient records.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid state Pharmacy Technician license. Hospital experience and strong organizational skills are preferred, with opportunities for growth within Vibra Healthcare.

Hospital Details

Vibra Hospital of SE Michigan - Taylor Campus, located in Taylor, MI is a 40 bed Critical Care Hospital providing acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often our patients require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you really get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties related to the hospital drug distribution system. Duties would include filling physician orders by preparing and distributing medications, including intravenous admixtures and extemporaneous drug preparations, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining confidential patient records. May participate in the hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Program with a focus on patient safety and public health.

Required Skills:

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacy Technician in the state of employment required.
• Valid driver’s license necessary in states with multiple facilities requiring delivering to sites.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

• Six (6) months experience in a hospital pharmacy preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
