Hy-Vee is seeking a Pharmacy Technician, Non-Certified to support pharmacists in processing prescriptions, handling insurance billing, inventory, and customer service. You will gain hands-on experience while pursuing national certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Working toward national technician certification.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy clerk preferred.
• Vaccination certification required where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers with a smile.
• Handle inquiries that do not require pharmacist expertise or judgment.
• Accept new prescriptions and telephoned refill requests as directed by the supervising pharmacist.
• Contact doctors to request or confirm refill prescriptions as needed.
• Gather and maintain accurate patient information for prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing.
• Label prescriptions and prepare them to be mailed or picked up.
• Submit insurance claims and assist with third-party billing.
• File prescriptions after dispensing and report medication errors as required.
• Stock pharmacy supplies and log invoices; maintain cleanliness and safety.
