Job summary

Hy-Vee in Jefferson City, MO is seeking a Part Time Pharmacy Technician – Non Certified to assist pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications while delivering friendly customer service. You will enter patient and prescription data, handle insurance claims, stock supplies, and support vaccine administration as allowed.

HS diploma and pursuing technician certification preferred; prior pharmacy clerk experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Working towards a licensed technician certification through a certified national program.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy clerk is preferred.
• Vaccination certification may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service.
• Assists pharmacists in the preparation and distribution of prescription medications.
• Enters prescription and patient information into the computer.
• Prepares and affixes labels to prescription containers.
• Prepares prescriptions to be mailed.
• Prepares and submits insurance claims.
• Maintains cleanliness of pharmacy and dispensing area.
• Administers vaccines as allowed by law.
