Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support Medication History at Worcester, MA Memorial Campus. Under pharmacist supervision, you will collect and verify allergy and medication histories and coordinate with care teams to ensure safe transitions of care.

Requirements include MA pharmacy technician registration, national certification (PTCB), and 3 years of pharmacy experience; strong communication, data entry, and Microsoft Office skills are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Massachusetts pharmacy technician registration and national certification by PTCB required.
• Three years pharmacy experience preferred (community and inpatient hospital).
• Strong interpersonal communication, data entry, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect and verify allergy and medication history under pharmacist supervision.
• Coordinate with patients, families, nurses, physicians and other providers for accurate home med lists.
• Operate electronic health records to obtain medication history.
• Contact outside facilities (pharmacies, physician offices, hospitals, long-term care) for history information.
