Job summary

Meijer is seeking a pharmacist to join our Avon, NY pharmacy team. You will interact with patients, promote clinical services, and ensure accurate prescription processing and insurance adjudication.

The role emphasizes patient care, confidentiality, teamwork, and maintaining an organized, compliant pharmacy environment. Previous state licensure requirements apply; Meijer provides ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent is required.
• Registered and/or licensed as required in the practice state.
• Experience in Retail/Community Pharmacy is preferred.
• Strong customer service and positive attitude expected.
• Proficient typing and neat penmanship are desirable.
• Good organizational and prioritization skills are essential.
• Teamwork and reliable attendance are important.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients at various service points.
• Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services.
• Input patient and prescription data into dispensing system.
• Create labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
• Retrieve medications from inventory and stock shelves.
• Process prescriptions and manage drug orders.
• Order prescription meds for the Pharmacy Department.

The position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy promotes patient care. This person must be friendly and provide remarkable customer service to enhance overall patient health.

What You'll be Doing:

• Level 2
• Interacting with patients at various service points of contact.
• Promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to the customer.
• Inputting customer and prescription information in the pharmacy dispensing system.
• Creating prescription labels and adjudicating insurance claims.
• Retrieving the appropriate medication from inventory.
• Completing paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
• Ordering prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
• Stocking prescription medication.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Maintaining a clean, and orderly pharmacy for a professional appearance.
• Maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
• Licensed in their respective state if required.
• Successful completion of Meijer Employer based training if licensure is not required in their respective state.
