Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital seeks a Pharmacy Technician for IV room admixtures and unit-dose preparation. This PRN role requires accurate compounding for critical care and OR areas, with emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will maintain stock levels, follow written procedures, and support pharmacy staff in defining best practices as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Previous pharmacy technician experience with IV admixtures preferred.
• PHRMTECH-R – Registered Pharmacy Technician current state board registration required upon hire; PTCB certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Admixture medications to IV solutions and prepare unit dose syringes and chemotherapy medications.
• Compounding of solutions/medications for critical care and OR satellite areas.
• Maintain adequate stock in assigned areas; ensure procedures and guidelines are followed.
• Collaborate with pharmacy and technical staff to define and document business rules and best practices.
• Perform duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed.
