Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support pharmacists in filling, compounding, and dispensing orders, and to help manage the workflow in a busy hospital pharmacy.

The role requires Georgia registration and at least one year of experience; knowledge of multiple pharmacy function areas is preferred, and the position offers exposure to oncology, narcotics, and clinical patient care across age groups.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration.
• At least 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pharmacist in filling, compounding, and dispensing physician orders.
• Perform technical duties involved with handling, packaging, and delivery of pharmaceuticals.
• Demonstrate proficiency in two or more pharmacy function areas (production/distribution, oncology, inventory management, narcotics, nursery, surgery, compounding and home care/outpatient).
• Provide patient care services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

The Pharmacy Tech II demonstrates proficiency to practice in two (2) or more specific pharmacy function areas (production/distribution, oncology, inventory management, narcotics, nursery, surgery, compounding and home care/outpatient). Provides patient care services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

REQUIRED:

1. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia.
2. One (1) year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician

PREFERRED:

1. Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
