Job summary
Salinas Valley Health Medical Center in Salinas, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists with medications for patients, prepare and deliver orders, and ensure accurate distribution under pharmacist supervision.
You will handle intravenous admixtures, chemotherapy under supervision, maintain certifications, stock, and coordinate with unit doses and Pyxis/Talyst systems; requires CA Pharmacy Technician Certificate and chemotherapy cert; experience in acute care preferred.
Qualifications
- Current California Pharmacy Technician Certificate required.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification is required.
- Chemotherapy Certification is required.
- New hires have 120 days to obtain chemo certification and must stay current.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with medications to patients on a timely and accurate basis.
- Enter, verify and transmit drug orders; prepare intravenous mixtures and sterile products.
- Replenish medications, stock rotational units and maintain narcotics accounting.
- Deliver medications and supplies to patient care areas per schedule.
- Maintain safety protocols and participate in competency assessments.
