RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to support medication reconciliation and daily dispensing activities at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. Under supervision of a registered pharmacist, you will handle unit-dose refills, IV schedules, and aseptic techniques as part of a collaborative pharmacy team.

The role emphasizes accuracy, patient safety, and efficient operations within a dynamic hospital setting in Livingston, NJ.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
• PTCB certification required within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Collecting and processing medication orders prior to distribution.
• Drug distribution: refilling unit-dose medication bins and delivering contents to nursing units.
• Maintenance of all automatic dispensing machines.
• Removing expired medication from stock.
• Restocking code carts.
• Preparing and labeling outpatient prescriptions.
• Preparing and labeling extemporaneously compounded non-sterile pharmaceuticals.
• Sterile and non-sterile product preparation.
• Performing required calculations for all medication dispensing and compounding.
• Using aseptic techniques.
• Maintains the integrity of laminar air flow hoods by cleaning and following procedures.
• Monitoring IV schedules and unused IV solutions on select nursing units to increase efficiency and avoiding waste.
