Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician II to assist pharmacists in patient care through preparation, dispensing, record-keeping, and transport of medications across all patient age groups. Under minimal supervision, the tech will perform CPhT II duties with added medication coordination, compounding, and packaging responsibilities.

Applicants must hold PTCB or ExCPT certification and Virginia licensure, plus a clean criminal record.

Qualifications

• One year of pharmacy practice experience required.
• Two years of pharmacy practice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, dispensing, record keeping and transport of medications.
• Perform CPhT II duties with increased responsibilities in coordination, compounding and packaging.
• Maintain compliance with licensure/certification requirements and uphold criminal-record standards.
• Provide staffing support across shifts and sites; train team members or students.
• Serve as back-up Technician-In-Charge on weekends during acclimation toward CPhT III.
