Job summary

Blessing Health System in Missouri is seeking a Pharmacy Tech I or II to assist the pharmacist in preparing dosage forms and maintaining patient records. This non-exempt, hourly position supports medication distribution across the organization and participates in the pharmacy workflow up to the final check by a licensed pharmacist.

Qualifications

PHARMACY TECH I- PAY RATE $17.80- $24.04

JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in preparing all pharmaceutical dosage forms, except those prepared by the IV Trained technician and those dosages requiring the specialized skills of the pharmacist. The position prepares dosage forms and prescriptions to the point of "final check" approval by the pharmacist and prepares patient medication safely and effectively in addition to maintaining the drug inventory and patient records; under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. All duties are carried out only by a registered pharmacist. This position is responsible for distributing medications throughout the organization.
This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital. JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Computational skills are a must
• Excellent typing skills a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED:

• Completion of Pharmacy Technician Training Course preferred
• Prior training and experience in pharmacy, particularly hospital pharmacy admixture program highly preferred

License/Certifications/Special Requirements:

• Illinois registration as a Pharmacy Technician
• Certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or equivalent unless exempted by the state of Illinois due to Grandfathering

Non-exempt hourly
