Job summary

Blessing Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I/II to assist pharmacists in preparing dosage forms and maintaining inventory to support patient care at Blessing Health System in Quincy, IL.

The role involves preparing dosage forms up to the pharmacist's final check, maintaining patient records, and ensuring proper drug distribution under supervision. Illinois registration and board certification per state rules are expected.

Qualifications

• Education/Training/Experience: High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Required: Computational skills are a must; Excellent typing skills a plus; Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: Completion of Pharmacy Technician Training Course; Prior training and experience in pharmacy, particularly hospital pharmacy admixture program highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in preparing all pharmaceutical dosage forms up to final check by the pharmacist.
• Prepare dosage forms and prescriptions to the point of final check, ensuring safe and effective medication distribution.
• Maintain drug inventory and patient records under supervision of a registered pharmacist.

PHARMACY TECH I - PAY RATE $17.80 - $24.04

PHARMACY TECH II - PAY RATE $19.27 - $27.94

Based on relevant experience + $2.00 shift differential if applicable.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in preparing all pharmaceutical dosage forms, except those prepared by the IV Trained technician and those dosages requiring the specialized skills of the pharmacist. The position prepares dosage forms and prescriptions to the point of "final check" approval by the pharmacist and prepares patient medication safely and effectively in addition to maintaining the drug inventory and patient records; under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. All duties are carried out only by a registered pharmacist. This position is responsible for distributing medications throughout the organization.

This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital.
