Job summary

Doctors Medical Center of Modesto is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a per diem role in the Pharmacy department. You will assist in drug distribution, sterile product prep, medication packaging, and patient billing under pharmacist supervision.

Qualifications include completion of an approved technician program and a CA Pharmacy Technician license (or Intern). 1+ year hospital experience and strong math/communication skills are preferred. This is a per diem position with rotating shifts.

The Pharmacy Technician performs various functions in the drug distribution, sterile product preparation, medication packaging, and patient billing under close observation of the pharmacist and general supervision of the Assistant Director of Pharmacy Services.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: Successful completion of a formal technician program or equivalent.

Minimum Experience/Skills: 1+ years experience as a hospital pharmacy technician preferred. Must have demonstrated proficiency in mathematical calculations and excellent written/verbal communication skills.

License/Certificates/Credentials:

• Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern License from the State of California is required.
• Valid California Driver’s License required if operating a motor vehicle for company business.

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking
• Lift/position up to 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force
• Reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
• Manual dexterity and mobility
• Ability to move quickly
