Job summary

Dignity Health - St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, California is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II to prepare and distribute medication orders in a busy hospital pharmacy.

You will work closely with pharmacists, nurses, patients, and families to ensure accuracy and safety in medication handling. The role requires hospital pharmacy experience, state registration as a pharmacy technician, and IV admixture competency either at hire or within 30 days of starting.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of previous hospital pharmacy experience.
• Registered State Board of Pharmacy Technician (CT PHRMTEC).
• Competency certification of IV admixture preparation and compounding is required upon hire or within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute medication orders (excluding IV chemotherapy) per hospital policies and state/federal regulations.
• Accurately fill medication orders and maintain records.
• Collaborate with the patient, family, and healthcare team while ensuring attention to detail.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a crucial role in preparing and distributing all medication orders (excluding I.V. Chemotherapy admixtures) according to hospital policies, standard practices of the profession and State and Federal laws and regulations.

Every day, you will utilize your knowledge and experience to precisely fill medication orders and accurately maintain records. You will work tactfully and effectively with team members, the patient and their family, and the public.

To be sucessful in this role, you will pay strong attention to detail and follow both oral and written directions.

Job Requirements

• Six (6) months of previous hospital pharmacy experience
• High School graduate
• Registered State Board of Pharmacy Technician (CT PHRMTEC)
• Competency certification of I.V admixture preparation and compounding is required of the Pharmacy Tech II upon hire or within thirty (30) days of hire date.
  • This requirement may be satisfied by submission of competency certification for I.V. admixture preparation and compounding from a qualified institution or successful completion of I.V admixture preparation and compounding assessment through observation and assessment by department management within thirty (30) days of hire
