Job summary

AtlantiCare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician-Level 2 to assist the Pharmacist with routine duties in acquiring, storing and dispensing medications and related supplies. The role includes preparing orders, operating dispensing machines, delivering medications, and supporting clerical functions in a hospital outpatient setting.

The Technician will screen prescriptions, interact with patients, and may prepare IVs, piggybacks, and TPNs under supervision, contributing to a patient-centered, efficient

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Registration with the NJ Board of Pharmacy required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer; National Pharmacy Technician Certification required.
  • 1 year pharmacy experience preferred. Good math skills required; good customer service skills also required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Pharmacist with routine duties for acquiring, storing and dispensing medications, chemicals and related supplies.
  • Prepare medication orders and operate automated dispensing machines.
  • Deliver medications to nursing units and fill medication carts; perform clerical duties.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

Demonstrates the competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Potential for exposure to the hazards of the hospital environment, such as exposure to infectious disease, hazardous waste, and potential injury.

Requires the ability to stand and walk 90% of the time. Requires the ability to reach, and lift up to 30 to 40 pounds.

This position reports to department leadership.

Qualifications
